Stewardship and the Steward

Christian Stewardship is a Christ-centered lifestyle, which acknowledges accountability, reverence, and responsibility before God.  The primary purpose of Stewardship is to promote spiritual growth and strengthen the faith of Stewards. Becoming a Steward begins when we believe in God, to whom we give our love, loyalty, and trust and act on those beliefs.  As Stewards, we affirm that every aspect of our lives comes as a gift from Him. Christian Stewardship is a call on all of the faithful to share willingly and cheerfully the gifts that God has bestowed on them including sharing these gifts for God’s work in His Church.

A Christian Steward is an active participant in the life of the Church.  The parish encourages all who accept our Lord Jesus Christ to become practicing Stewards.  Each year the Steward is expected to carefully review his or her personal circumstances and make a personal commitment of Time, Talent, and Treasure to support the Parish Ministries, which in turn support the Community at large.

2024 STEWARDSHIP “Our Church Our Spiritual Home” is on the way to reaching its $45,000 goal. You do not need to be a dues-paying member of the Church to be a steward. For the benefit of our Church, please help us reach our end. Our ministries in 2023 included: A food drive for Sacred Heart food pantry, we made and delivered 150 lunches to Lazarus House and we sponsored and served a community meal at the Haverhill Citizens.

We will be planning our ministries for 2024. If anyone has any ideas or wants to become a steward, let us know.

THERE ARE MANY STEWARDSHIP LEVELS, ONE TO FIT EVERYONE’S CONTRIBUTION ABILITY:

Donate

  • STEWARD = $260 = $5/week

  • DOLLAR-A-DAY = $365 = $7/week

  • BRONZE = $520 = $10/week

  • SILVER = $1,300 = $25/week

  • GOLD = $2,080 = $40/week

  • PLATINUM = $2,600 = $50/week

Some of you may have the resources and desire to contribute at a higher rate; others can contribute only at a lesser rate to help us to fulfill our Christian obligation. It is a matter of conscience which every parishioner must decide for themselves.

Stewardship is a journey. It is about life – a way of life. Stewardship asks the parishioner to determine the amount of time, service and money they are able to pledge for the support of the church. It is a fair and simple manner by which each parishioner may participate in the life of the parish.
